Lorita P. Dowell, 90, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born in Ware County, Georgia on September 15, 1929 to Walter Smith and Eva K. Smith. Rita Dowell retired from Alton Box Board Paper Company after forty plus years of service. Her many loves were her God, family, country cooking, shopping and gardening.

Lorita was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years Joseph T. Dowell.

She is survived by; her daughter Debbie Gamertsfelder, son-in-law Ray. Granddaughter Dawn Rita Elaine Wilkie, great grandson Chaz. Her daughter Vickie Clark, son-in-law David. Granddaughter, Ashley Lauren Clark. Granddaughter Melissa Wilkins, son-in-law Carleton. Great Granddaughter Madeleine Claire Wilkins.

A visitation will be held 10 am, Monday, November 25, 2019 in the Arlington Park Funeral Home Chapel, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211. Funeral service will commence at 11am with entombment in the Arlington Park Cemetery, 6921 Lone Star Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32211 immediately following.
