Obituary of Lorna Floyd

Lorna Burns Floyd, born November 4, 1926, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010 after a prolonged illness. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Richard N. Floyd. She is survived by three sons, Richard N. Floyd II (Sandra), Bruce D. Floyd (Vicki) and Timothy E. Floyd. Lorna was blessed with five grandchildren, Michael R. Floyd (Becky), Brian A. Floyd (Cary), Stephanie D. Floyd, Stephen D. Floyd and Kristin J. Broyles (Daryl). She was blessed with the joy of eight great-grandchildren, Ben, Mandy, Abby, Jessica, Alex, Hannah, Brendan and Elly. Lorna was a longtime and faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Lake Worth, Florida, and most recently, a member of the East Pointe Church in Jacksonville. She was a strong believer in the power of prayer, of reading her Bible daily and was involved in the Awana program for children. She will be greatly missed by friends and family alike. We love you. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Baymeadows Baptist Church, 4826 Baymeadows Road.
