Obituary

Louis Livatino, 71, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2021 in Jacksonville, Florida.  He was born on September 21, 1949 in Brooklyn, N.Y.; Michael Livatino and Madeline Livatino welcomed their son Lou Livatino to the world. Little did they know that he would be known as a selfless, kind and fearless, man who cared deeply for family and was a friend to all. Louis Donovan Livatino remembers his father as a role model, a hero, and a 'Titan Amongst Men'. Lou completed his Bachelors degree in three years. He began his career by working as an electrician and later joined the United States Naval Reserves and later transitioning to active duty.  After retiring for the USN, Lou went to work for Baptist Medical Center where he spent the next twelve years as an electrician.

Just as he loved his own family he loved reuniting families whose spouse or children were away on active duty.  He was an operator of a Ham radio and used his skills to connected families and friends together.   Lou later became the president of the Ham Radio Club. With Lou's high IQ he was able to become a member of Mensa, many police associations, and the American Legion. When serving as part of the police association he was able to serve in many ways: evidence and property, sexual assault, Romeo patrol, civil processing, burglary, robbery, and even in the crimes unit. Lou first made officer of the month and was named officer of the year in 2017.

Lou's son, Louis was so inspired by his father that he too joined the military to serve his country. Lou not only gave life to Louis he raised, nurtured, provided, disciplined, and most importantly taught him to be the man he is today. He was many things to many people, a father, a brother, an uncle, a son, a friend, and a grandfather to young Melesaini Kailani Livatino. He left behind love from his enormous heart that now lives on through his beautiful family and will continue to live on through many generations.

Lou is preceded in death by his father Michael Livatino and his father-in-law Gene Tisdale.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sheryl Livatino; son, Louis D. Livatino (Samalaulu Filoialii); brothers, Joseph M. (Jody); and Michael (Dana); granddaughter, Melesaini K. Livatino; nephews, Michael J. (Anna), and John; nieces, Lauren Small (Chris), Jessica Breedlove (Ryan), and Jennifer Livatino; Great nieces Julianna and Aubrey; Great nephew, Anthony; Great Great nephew Rhett; Mother-in Law, Betty Tisdale.

A public visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. at North Jacksonville Baptist Church, 8531 N. Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32218.  Funeral services will immediately start at 11:00 a.m. with Paul Davis officiating.  Police Honors will be rendered at the church.  A private entombment will soon follow at Arlington Park Cemetery 6921 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211 where military honors will be rendered.
