Obituary of Louise Griffith

GRIFFITH Louise Summerall Griffith, 99, passed away May 23, 2010 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born January 23, 1911 in Baxley, Georgia to Aldine L. Summerall and Willie Aspinwall. Mrs. Griffith retired in 1970 from Delta Airlines. She was the oldest member of Terry Parker Baptist Church and was a member of the Red Hat club at Palm Garden. She is predeceased by her parents as well as her husband Herman Johnson; a daughter, Jeannie Kay Clarke: son-in-law, Paul Clarke; and sisters, Vivian Ditzer, Deenie Atkinson, Hattie Belle Black, and Evelyn Thrasher. She is survived by a sister, Hulda Baker of Baxley, Georgia; grandchildren Angie Green (David). Paul Clarke II (Regla), and Kevin Clarke; and great-grandchildren, Ronnie Helton, Sara Kay Clarke, and David C. Green. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 1pm in the Chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home, with Rev. Howard Goodwin, officiating. Interment will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from 5-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4114 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Palm Garden for their compassionate care.
