Obituary of Lucy Zamora
Lucy A. Zamora, 85, went to join Charles, her loving husband of 56 years, in heaven on June 10, 2010. Born in Weimar, TX, Lucy played violin and toured Arizona and California with an all-female orchestra, La Musica Tipica, before settling down to married life. She moved with her family to Jacksonville where she was employed at several local businesses before retirement to Jacksonville Beach, spending her last few years at Ponce Care Center in St. Augustine. She is survived by sons Ron and Greg Zamora, daughter-in-law Mary Lea (Ron's wife) and six of eight siblings: Raymond and Paul Alvarado, Rita (Alvarado) LaDavia, Frances (Alvarado) Flores, Mike and Joe Alvarado. She was preceded in death by siblings Peter and Apolonio Alvarado, Jr. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her very much. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. on Monday, June 14th at Arlington Park Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00p.m. A funeral Mass will take place at 11:00a.m. on June 15th at St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church in St. Augustine. A private interment service will be held at Arlington Park Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities in your local community.
