Manlie Odell Duckworth, Jr. passed peacefully on February 26, 2018, at Community Hospice at St. Vincent's in Jacksonville, FL. A native of Macon, GA, Manlie moved to Jacksonville as a child where he resided for most of his life. His wife, Jean Salafia Duckworth, and their son, Richard F. Thomasino, preceded him in death.
Manlie is survived by his son, Robert (Carla) Thomasino of Palm City, FL., granddaughters Carla Jean (Mark) Lawver of Norton Shores, MI, and Cheryl (Brandon) Schroeder of Palm City, FL; by his son, David Duckworth (partner, Laura Sweeney, and her son Ryan) of Jacksonville, FL, grandson, David (April) Duckworth, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; and, by his son, Gerald (Sandra) Duckworth of St. Augustine, FL, grandsons, Ryan (Corrie) Duckworth of Marietta, GA, and Matt (Sarah) Duckworth of Washington, DC. He is also survived by his eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Duckworth will be laid to rest at a private service at Arlington Park Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL, on April 21, 2018, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, Inc., 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257.
