Manuel Eleuterio Lopes, 77, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026. He was born on August 30, 1948, in the Cape Verde Islands to Eleuterio Jose Lopes and Maria Rosa Pires.

Manuel was loving, kind, devoted to his family, and deeply devoted to the Lord. He loved the Lord with all his heart and touched the lives of many through his compassion, generosity, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina Lopes, and his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Lopes; his sons, Manuel Lopes Jr. and Christopher Lopes; his daughter-in-law, Teresa Lopes; his grandchildren, Gabriella Lopes and Miguel Lopes; his brothers and sisters; his best friend, Jose Lopes; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on June 6 at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at Christ the King Church, 742 Arlington Rd N, Jacksonville, FL 32211. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Edgewood Cemetery, 4519 N Edgewood Dr., Jacksonville, FL 32219.
