Obituary of Marcus Lennon
Marcus Andrew Lennon, 89, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013. He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather and caring friend to all who knew him. Marcus was born on August 20, 1924 in Humbolt, TN, to the late Marquis and Cynthia Lennon. His family settled here in Jacksonville, FL in 1929. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Ella Eudine Knight Lennon of 67 wonderful years. Marcus served the Jacksonville Fire Department for nearly 40 years and retired as a Battalion Chief. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a navigator and became a decorated pilot. Marcus was also a member of several organizations such as the Blue Lodge, Scottish Rite, Morocco Temple and also volunteered at Memorial Hospital in the emergency room for over ten years. He is survived by his two sons Larry (Barbara) Lennon, Michael (Cheryl) Lennon; grandchildren Kristen, Stephen, Blake, Brett, Cody; great granddaughter Kamdyn. Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, for a visitation on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 10:00am to 10:45am and a graveside service to follow at 11:00am in the Arlington Park Cemetery.
