Marcus (Marc) Lane Tamplin, 78, of St. Augustine, FL passed away peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2021, with his wife and son beside him.  He was born January 15, 1943, in Rome, GA, the son of the late Joe Boyd Tamplin and Lettye Lane Tamplin.

Marc graduated from Jackson High School, attended the University of Florida, and graduated with a BA degree from Jacksonville University. Marc had a long career with AT&T and retired in 2005. He was a people person who really cared about others and never judged anyone.  He loved meeting new people and never met a stranger.  He genuinely cared about the stories people told him and about their lives.

After retirement, he and his wife moved to St. Augustine. He loved being outside, especially if he was at the beach or the pool. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a dedicated and loving father to his two sons.

Marc met his wife, Diane, at AT&T and asked her to marry him within two weeks. They were married for 53 years and enjoyed travelling, sailing and boating or just sitting beside each other reading.

Marc is survived by his loving wife, Diane Snyder Tamplin; his sons, Damon Marcus Tamplin and Devin Boyd Tamplin; his brother, Joe Boyd Tamplin; and many cousins in Florida and Georgia.

Words cannot express the grief of his family and friends at his untimely death.  A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday, May 28, at 11 AM at Arlington Park Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to your favorite charity are appreciated.
