Obituary of Margaret Taylor
Margaret Tanner Taylor, 93, peacefully passed into the presence of her Lord on January 3, 2015. Throughout her days, Margaret lived with the blessed assurance that Jesus was her Savior. She will be remembered for her bright eyes, quick smile and hands that served others.
Margaret was born on November 10, 1921 and raised on a small farm outside of Douglas, Georgia. She graduated from Douglas High School and then married the handsome Thurston Taylor. Margaret remained faithfully by his side for 67 years until his death in 2009. Margaret, Thurston and their two children moved to Jacksonville in 1955 and settled into the Holly Oaks Community. There, they were members of Parkwood Baptist Church and served with that congregation for nearly 30 years, eventually joining the Senior Choir. Margaret adored her children, Hal and Peggy, and they have been devoted to her. She retired form Memorial Hospital after many years as a data entry clerk. Margaret is survived by her son, the Hon. L. Haldane Taylor (Dee) of Jacksonville; daughter, Peggy Wirth (Randy) of East Lansing, MI and granddaughters, Holly Cauley (Antony) and Kelly Rousseau (James). She will also be missed by seven great grandchildren who looked forward to seeing her at all the family gatherings. Reverend Larry Weaver of Parkwood Baptist Church (retired) will preside at a graveside service on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 11:00am at Arlington Park Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL
