Obituary of Margie Lewis

Margie Dimple (Pogue) Lewis went home to be with the Lord on January 9, 2012. She passed away surrounded by her family, of an extended illness. Born on October 1, 1924 to the late Felix Jasper (Fee) Pogue and Laura Mae (Sikes) Pogue, she was raised in the Oak Grove community near Fredericktown, Missouri. She married Richard B. (Dick) Lewis on June 26, 1940 and therefore would have celebrated their 72nd anniversary June 26 of this year. Margie was wise as an owl and gentle as a dove. She loved until it hurt and then loved a little more.....It seems to be a Pogue family trait. She was a member of the Deerwood Baptist Church in Jacksonville. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her seven siblings Eugene Clayborn (Gene), Roy David -killed in WWII, Nora Verna Mae Whiteaker, Emma Rosabel (Rosie) Kitchen, Virginia Thelma (Aslinger) Rigdon, Nina Ruth Sigman and Goldie Viola Koen. Margie is survived by her husband Dick Lewis, her three children Richard (Dick) Lewis (Gladys), Locust Grove, Arkansas, Teresa Lucius (Rick), Conway, Arkansas, and Pamela Berlin, Jacksonville, Florida. Margie and Dick have 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL on Thursday, January 12, 2012, from 6-8:00pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Arlington Park Cemetery.
