Obituary

Marilyn Webber Stephens, 91, passed away September 9, 2021. Born in Gary, Indiana to Nelson and Gladys Webber, she graduated high school from Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Her family relocated to Longboat Key, FL and she soon enrolled at the University of Florida and was in their first coed class. Marilyn was a member of the Beta Pi Chapter of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She went on to receive a Masters in Education from Jacksonville University. Marilyn was an educator for many decades teaching in several Duval County Public Schools and played an instrumental role in the gifted program. She was a longtime parishioner at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Arlington. Marilyn was an avid Florida Gator fan, golfer, and bridge player. She is preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 53 years, Norman "Smoky" Stephens, whom she met while attending the University of Florida.

Marilyn is survived by (and will be greatly missed by) her two sons, Douglas (Kelly) and Michael (Sharon); and four grandchildren, Megan, Chris, Shane, and Dan. She was a loving "Memaw" to so many others.
