Marion I. Alford Strickland age 91 of Jacksonville, Florida passed away Friday July 6, 2018 at the Community Hospice Hadlow Center in Jacksonville, FL
Mrs. Strickland was born September 23, 1926 at Stuart, FL. She was one of 10 siblings born to Mr & Mrs H.M. Alford of Palatka, FL.
Marion is preceded in death by her husband Emory C. Strickland, Sr.
and is survived by three siblings: Martha Stevenson (Walter), J C. Alford and Gene Alford.
She was mother to three children: Emory C. Strickland,Jr, (Judy), Arthur Strickland and Janice Strickland; grandmother to two grandchildren: Rev. Kenneth C. Strickland (Stephanie) and Joseph S. Strickland (Tara), and two great grandchildren; Brandon and Chloe Strickland.
Marion was a longtime member of Southside Assembly of God church and, later, Arlington Assembly of God. She worked several years as a secretary at SSAG.
Marion loved God was a strong woman of FAITH...a true Proverbs 31 wife and mother.
She enjoyed sewing, crafting and crocheting. In her later years she loved to crochet butterflies and give them to friends and family.
Marion will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
