Obituary

Marjorie Marie Privett age 96 passed away Sunday May 6, 2018 at Riverwood Center in Jacksonville Florida. Born December 10, 1921 in Plant City Florida she grew up on the family's strawberry farm. During World War II she volunteered at the USO and helped with the numerous scrap drives for the effort in the war. Following the war, she married and moved to Michigan for a brief period and then to Jacksonville Florida. She worked 20-years for the Prudential Insurance Company where she helped operate one of the first computers in Jacksonville. She retired in 1977. She was a talented painter, wrote poetry, loved the game of tennis, enjoyed playing cards, enjoyed fishing, and even tried her hand at doll making. She was a long-time member of Parkwood Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Park Dean Privett, Sr.; her two sons, Park Dean Privett, Jr. and Donald Rowan Privett; her three sisters, Betty Kean, Pearl Renegar and Hazel Aller; two brothers, Milton Brinson and Earnest Brinson. She is survived by her grandson, Buck Zechariah Privett.
