Marlene Skipper Starkey 90, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 19,
2025, with family by her side.

Marlene met the love of her life, Richard Starkey, during a family holiday when he was on a
brief leave from the Navy. They celebrated 73 years of marriage this year.

Marlene's life was marked by her noteworthy strength and a spirit that aligned to her
dedication to family and faith. Marlene supported the Arlington Christian Church, Disciples of
Christ, for the better part of seven decades by serving in multiple roles. Marlene last served as a
teacher of the Adult Sunday School Class.

Marlene started her working career with Wm Cesery Realty. She continued on to the State of
Florida where her career progressed through the decades, ending with her retirement there.

Marlene is survived by her husband Richard, her Daughters In-Law, Elizabeth Starkey and
Michele Starkey; grandsons Gary Starkey Jr (Jessica), great grandson Nicholas, David Starkey;
step grandson Aaron Bishop (Savannah), step great grandsons Linus and Xander; step granddaughter Sarah Woods (Hiatt) and step great grandsons Rueter and Reece; many loved cousins and friends.

Marlene was preceded in death by her cherished sons, Richard (Rick) Starkey, Jr., Gary C.
Starkey, Sr, brother Carter Skipper, Mother Flora Skipper; step granddaughter Stacey Munley
and Father Eddie Skipper Jr.

A Memorial service will be held December 3, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Arlington
Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211. Interment will follow at
1:00 pm at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
