Obituary

Mary Ruth Brinton was born on June 24, 1929 and passed away on December 10, 2020. She was born in Paragould, Arkansas to Frank and Hettie Wood. She and her twin sister, Martha, were the youngest of five girls including Beatrice, Beauton, and Virginia. She married Burk Bryant Brinton on November 3, 1949, and they were married for 69 years until his passing in October 2018. They had two sons, Bob and Tom. Her years spent raising her family were first in Arkansas and then in Denver, Colorado. Mary and her family relocated to Jacksonville, Florida in 1972. Mary and Burk established Brinton's Paint Company in downtown Jacksonville in 1976, where she served as bookkeeper until her retirement. Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a lifelong Christian whose genuine faith and love of the Lord were evident to all who met her. Her life of prayer, faith, and intimacy with God were an inspiration and model to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.


She is survived by her twin sister, Martha; her two sons, Robert Brinton (wife Tanya) of Jacksonville, Florida and Thomas Brinton (wife Kathy) of Winter Haven, Florida; her four grandsons, Jason, Jeremy, Mathew, and Evan; and seven great grandchildren, Devin, Bella, Audrey, Lissette, Clark, Reese, and Caleb.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Arlington Park Funeral Home.
