Obituary of Mary Long
Mary C. Gladys Long, 86, passed away November 13, 2007. She was born January 7, 1921 in Appling County, Georgia and raised in Brunswick. She graduated from Glenn County High School in 1939 and relocated to Jacksonville after getting married and WWII. Gladys was an operator for Southern Bell, became a homemaker and later worked as a Pre School teacher in the Arlington area.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. Long, Sr., in 1999 and is survived by three sons, Albert Jr. (Lois), Marion and William; three grandchildren, Albert III (Melissa) in Wyoming, John and Tami; two great-granddaughters, Eloise and Olivia Long also in Wyoming, and her loving adopted family, Joan and Sonny Crawford.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2007 at 12:00pm in Arlington Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm, prior to the service, in the chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be given to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
