Mary Loyal, was born Mary Lillie Lester on June 9, 1951 to the late Mr. Mercer A. Lester and Mrs. Beatrice Echols Lester in Lithonia, Georgia.

Mary attended the Historic Hooper Renwick School, graduated from South Gwinnett High School and later attended Florida Community College of Jax to study Culinary Arts.

Mary worked for General Motors for 31 years and retired in 2004 after her granddaughter was born. She enjoyed cooking , traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed playing bingo and participating in arts and crafts with her "Fountains Family".

She is preceded in death by her son, Mr. Richard S. Bailey; three brothers, Mr Mercer Lester Jr.,  Mr. George Phillips, and Mr. Charles P Lester Sr. (Clara); and beloved nephew, Mr. Charles Lester Jr.

She leaves behind two children, Mr. Melvin D. Loyal and Mrs. Michele Loyal-Iszard (Dario); two grandchildren, Dazha Robinson and Chanz Williams (Loyal); three siblings, Mr. Benjamin F. Lester, Mr. David L. Lester, and Ms. Shirley A. Lester; seven nieces and nephews; and a host of very special family and friends.
