It's with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary "Theresa" Mims, who peacefully departed this world March 18, 2024, in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. She was born on August 25, 1946, in Charleston, South Carolina. She was the youngest of 5 children. She is proceeded in death by her husband Danny Mims, brothers Pete Leddy, Timmy Leddy, and Pat Leddy. She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and brother Bob Leddy.

Although she was born in Charleston, Theresa spent most of her life in Jacksonville, Florida where she graduated from Terry Parker High School. Later to marry and raise her three children, Dan Mims Jr., Missy Corbitt (Kevin) and Katie Mims (Jeff). She later retired from Duval County School Board.

After retiring, she embraced her role as Gee-Gee and spent many years supporting her 6 grandsons Ryan Mims (Lauren), Kyle Bright (Amy), Tyler Bright(Ashley), Austin Strecker, Justin Mims(Katie), Blake Strecker and 5 great grandchildren JJ, Sophie, Kylie, Hazel and Beau. Her favorite pastimes were shopping, dinner, and going to the movies with her girlfriends. She loved her Florida Gators and was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 283. She will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

To honor her memory, a funeral service will be held on March 30, 2024, at Arlington Park Funeral Home, located at 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211. The service will commence at 2 pm.
