Obituary of Mary Scott
Mary Ann Scott, 87, went home to be with her Lord July 19, 2010. She was born into this world March 2, 1923 and was re-born into eternal salvation when she was saved at the age of 23. Mrs. Scott was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Downtown and a devout Christian. Her favorite Bible verse was John 3:16. She was also an avid fisherwoman and a self taught horticulturalist who loved gardening and working crossword puzzles. Mrs. Scott joins many loved ones in heaven including her Husband, William Scott; son, James Gordon Justice, Jr.; granddaughter Trina Gail Justice; grandson, Homer Ray Burnam and great-great grandson, Brantley Michael Robinson. She will be remembered by her daughters, Louise Greene and Shirley Ann Fowler; stepdaughter, Jami Justice Kincheloe; 7 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Alton Smith (Missouri) and Allen Smith (Lakeland, Fl); sisters, Ruby Phillips (Palatka, Fl), Winnie Byrd (St. Mary's, GA), Mildred Kitchens (Douglas, GA) and Elizabeth Carter (Douglas, GA); and many, many nieces, nephews and a loving extended family. Friends are invited to join in a celebration of Mrs. Scott's homegoing Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home. The celebration will be officiated by her grandson, William Gordon Greene and her great granddaughter, Cheryll Andrews will be singing.
