Mary Jean Smith Pausche, 89, born December 19, 1927 in Hagerstown, Indiana to Paul S. Smith and Gladys Swoveland Smith, passed away September 25, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida.

She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband of 48 years Al Pausche; son, Chuck Pausche; daughter, Sandy Harper and grandson Walt Morrison.

She is survived by her brother, Max Smith; children, John Pausche (Laura), AJ Pausche (Jeanie), Nancy Quitter (Keith Hyser), Anne Morrison, Susan Conner (Brian) and Jimmy Pausche (Brenda). She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She loved to read and work crossword puzzles. She was an excellent speller and as a child won the county spelling bee. She loved spending time with family. In her more active years Jean loved to fish and go to the beach.

The family will be having a private memorial service.
