IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Ann
Wilson
August 6, 1948 – July 29, 2023
Mary Wilson was born in Long Beach, California on August 6, 1948 to Alexander Chamblee and Leitha Mae Young. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister (Lovie Sims), 1 brother (Sylvester Chamblee), husband (Johnny Wilson), and granddaughter (Kerial Petitt). Mary graduated from Shafter High School in 1967. Mary Ann Chamblee married Johnny Wilson on the 25th of September, 1970. They were married for 44 years and produced two children; John J. Wilson and Kevin A. Wilson. She was widowed on April 12, 2015. Mary was devoted to her husband and children and showered them with much affection. Often requesting "sugar" from those she loved.
However Mary would tell you her greatest achievement was raising her sons to know and love Jesus Christ. Mary worked for several companies including Sears, E-Systems, and Publix. Mary leaves behind two sons; John (Sonya) Wilson, Kevin Wilson; grandchildren; Chase, Shanika, Sherry, Jasmine Wilson; Devin and Destiny Cullom; two great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge. Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day. Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth. Psalm 71:7-9
Now also when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come. Psalm 71:18
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 1 Corinthians 15:42-44
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15 50-58
