Maurice "Clay" Claydon, age 95, son of William Claydon and Charlotte Desteunder was born, March 4, 1921 in Fremont, Michigan passed away September 9, 2016 at Baptist South Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida.
Clay retired from the U.S. Army as a Major in 1961. He was awarded the Bronze Star, as well as several other awards and medals, during his time in service.
Clay was a devoted family man and a man of strong Christian faith. His generosity to those less fortunate was boundless; yet he was humble, and served without expecting recognition or accolades.
Maurice was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Harbuck Claydon.
He is survived by Casie Michelle Johnson, granddaughter, and Tyler Michael Adam, great-grandson.
A Graveside Celebration of Life will begin 10 AM, Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Arlington Park Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211 with Pastor Wayne Bauer officiating.
