Obituary of Melba Carter

Melba Rae Carter, "Dusty", 60, passed away July 4, 2010. She was a native of Bluefield, West Virginia and relocated to Jacksonville in 1976. She was a very bubbly and outgoing person, true to her friends and a friend to everyone that knew her. Ms. Carter opened her heart and home to many people throughout the years. She is preceded in death by a son, Kevin Looney (2004). Survivors include her life time companion Donnie Thompson; grandson, Jacob Looney; and very special friends, Kenneth "Ski" Gaworski (Debbie), Ella Darquenne, Gale Jenkins, Linda Bowen, Tommy Jenkins, and Clint Johnson. A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Donnie Thompson's home beginning at 10am and continuing throughout the day with good food and fellowship.
