IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mercedes Ethel
Davis
July 5, 1931 – February 6, 2024
Mercedes Ethel Davis peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 in Gainesville, Florida. At the age of 92, she is believed to be one of the oldest survivors with developmental disabilities.
She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on July 5,1931 to the late Frederick and Sadie Davis as the oldest of 6 siblings (4 deceased). She had a fascination for people watching, loved to walk, and enjoyed riding in all types of motor vehicles, especially carts.
Beautiful memories are cherished by her devoted sister, Betty Davis Frasier and her brother-in-law Joseph Frasier, who held a special place in her heart. A host of nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins and countless friends bid farewell with a heavy heart and profound gratitude to have known her. Mercedes was a legend in her own right and filled with love for her family and those around her.
She is so well loved that a second Memorial service will be held at Tacachale Developmental Disability Center in Gainesville, FL in which she was an active and energetic community resident for many years.
