Obituary of Michael Brogan
Michael Carl Brogan, 67, passed away September 7, 2010. Born in Gulfport, Mississippi, he considered Savannah, Georgia his home, where he grew up and later returned after living in California and Washington for a number of years. He resided in Jacksonville since 1989. He retired after 40 years as a civilian employee of the United States Navy, after proudly serving his country during the Viet Nam War on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Coral Sea. He will be remembered as a truly patriotic American, in addition to being a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather.
Michael is survived by a loving family that includes his wife, Joan; children, Sean Michael Brogan (Melissa), Jennifer Louise Perdue (Scott), John Michael Drake (Rachel); brother, John Brogan; sister, Sheila Boulineau (Gerald); aunt, Catherine Lawrence; six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is pre- deceased by his parents, Jack and Freda Brogan of Savannah.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 2 pm at Arlington Park Funeral Home,6920 Lone Star Road, with Pastor Mark Winkler of St. Matthews Lutheran Church officiating.
