Our beloved Michael Elias Haddad passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer on October 18, 2024. Michael was born 11/14/1947 in Jacksonville, FL to Milhim Michael Haddad and Rosalee Anne (Rahaim). Michael is predeceased by his mother Rosalee and father Milhim.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Jeanne Haddad; his sister, Theresa Jebaily (Joseph); his daughter, Lucy Schreck (Rachel); and his son, Coach Matthew Haddad. He was affectionately known as "Jidu" to his two grandsons, Kaeleb and Liam. Michael was also a cherished godfather and uncle to many. His unwavering faith was the cornerstone of his life, providing him with constant strength and comfort. Michael was a devoted husband and father, who cherished every moment spent with his family, always placing their needs and happiness at the center of his life. His kindness, generosity, and steadfast commitment to faith and family will be forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.
Michael was a proud Jacksonville native and a dedicated member of Resurrection Parish for over 40 years. Throughout his life, he remained deeply involved in the Jacksonville community where he was lovingly raised, as well as the parishes that were central to his spiritual journey. Michael was a man of profound faith and unwavering devotion to his family. A graduate of Bishop Kenny High School, he later earned degrees from both the University of North Florida and Jacksonville University. He took immense pride in his Lebanese heritage, treasuring the memories of his childhood, which he spent surrounded by his grandparents, parents, sister, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Michael was honored to serve his country as a Green Beret in the United States Army Reserve, Company F, 11th Special Forces Airborne and the 67th Railway Transportation Group.
All services will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church, 3383 University Blvd N., Jacksonville, FL 32277. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 23rd, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, followed by the Rosary at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, October 24th, at 10:00 am, and afterwards, Michael will be laid to rest with full military honors in Arlington Park Cemetery. There will be a luncheon to follow the burial at the Resurrection Catholic Church Parish Center.
