Obituary of Mildred Nelson

Mildred Chandler Nelson, 73, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 31, 2010. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and caring friend to all who knew her. Mildred was born on May 11, 1936, to the late James and Willard Chandler. She is preceded in death by her daughter Jeannie Nelson. Mildred was a Ceramicist that enjoyed doing this as a hobby and at one time did it as a part time job helping the elderly. She also loved her Jacksonville, Jaguars. Mildred is survived by her loving husband of 57 wonderful years Billy Nelson; sons James (Janet) Nelson, John (Diane) Nelson, Jay Nelson, William (Debra) Nelson; daughter Marth Lynn Nelson and her companion Kellie Williams; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters MaryLou Bettes, Jackie (Jack) Watts; brother Harold L. Chandler along with numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, for a visitation on Monday, April 5, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel and a funeral service at Kernan Boulevard Baptist Church, 4000 Kernan Boulevard Baptist Church, on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Arlington Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The American Cancer Society.
