Obituary

Mitchell Lee Gerganous was the youngest of four brothers, the son of Shirley Duduit and Robert Gerganous, step son to Jim Duduit. Brother to William Knight, Ronnie Knight, and Barry Knight. Mitch was a husband, father, brother, artist, poet, and musician. As a child, he was a gifted student with a love of art and music. Mitch was an award winning graphic designer, for years working for Continental Printing followed by his independent printing company, Identity Matters. What Mitch was most proud of in his career was his work with music, Mitch was the lead singer of Powerball, later named The Mighty Powerball. With albums such as Frozen Sun and Opposing Furies. Mitch made a name for himself in the underground Jacksonville music scene. Mitch met and later married Kelly Gerganous, which resulted in two children. Darian Gerganous followed three years later by his son Layne Gerganous. Mitch also had a love for animals, having pets such as a dog named Roxy, who he shared a special bond with; an iguana, and his most treasured pet being his best friend, a cat named smittens. Mitch bravely fought against gallbladder cancer, beating the odds multiple times. Mitch was preceded in death by his brothers Ronnie and Bill, his father Bob, and his step father Jim. Mitch is survived by his two children, his wife, his brother, his nieces and nephews, and his mother.
