Obituary

Nancy Carol Lane, 83, born September 18, 1934 in Endicott, New York to Sheldon Mather and Orma Demming Mather, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Nancy "Nan" was born and raised in New York. She eventually relocated to Piqua, OH with her husband, Leo Lane, and her children. Nancy eventually settled on a career as a professional dog groomer, which she continued until she retired. In high school she was involved in Choir and Student Congress. As a young adult she enjoyed swing dancing and loved to dance the jitterbug. She was also involved with her husband in the Drum and Bugle Corp of Endicott, New York. In her later years she enjoyed movies, theater, reading, bingo and hanging out with her friends and family. She looked on her children with pride, and seeing her grandchildren lit her face with joy. She believed that raising her children well was her greatest accomplishment and she felt she did everything she wanted to do in life. She leaves a legacy of a large, diverse family who all love her dearly.

Nancy was preceded in death by her mother and father; her sister, Jacque Geeding and her daughter, Debra Mullin.

She is survived by her children: Rick (Mary) Lane of Jacksonville, FL; Kelle Lane of Jacksonville, FL; Penny Lane of Milwaukee, WI; Mark (Lisa) Lane of Jacksonville, FL; Her grandchildren: Jennifer Sage of Jacksonville, FL; Paul (Holly) Neves of Fletcher, OH; Joe (Nolita) Franz of Milwaukee, WI; Matthew Sage of Jacksonville, FL; Christian (Wayne) Stockton of Sidney, OH; Sharon Lane of Jacksonville, FL; Heather Franz of Milwaukee, WI; Julian McNeil of Jacksonville, FL; Ethan (Jomeshua) McNeil of Jacksonville, FL; Ryan McNeil of Jacksonville, FL; Richard Ward of Corbin, KY; and James (Elizabeth) Ward of Jacksonville, FL; Her Great Grandchildren: Ebony Wright, Chase Wright, Nolan Neves, Carter Neves, Hayden Neves, Journey Franz, Jasmine Sage-Kras, Eli Sage, Miles Stockton, Quinn Langford, Rashad McNeil, Jada McNeil, Nyleah McNeil, Abigail Ward, Alice Lee Ward, Alexandra Ward, Anthony Ward, Mary Elizabeth Ward, and Kristina Marie Ward; and Her Great-Great Grandchildren Marlee Wright and Makayla Torres.
