Obituary of Norma Maurice
Norma L. Maurice, 79, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away February 17, 2015 at Brookdale Atrium Way under the loving care of the nurses and other staff. She was born October 11, 1935 in Lawrence County, Lukin Township, IL. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles Metz and Lowela Adamson Metz. She was a career housewife who lovingly cared for her late husband, Roger L. Maurice and deceased precious son, Bobby D. Maurice. She is survived by her son, Roger D. Maurice of Jacksonville and brother, Ivan Metz. She is also survived by her dear Sister In Law, Margaret M. Davison and many nephews and nieces including Michael D. Davison, Donald F. Davison and Wesley A. Davison of Jacksonville, FL and their children. She is also survived by nephews, Alan Pearson, Charles Pearson of Lancaster, IL and Curtis Dudley of Mt. Carmel, IL and their children. Because Mom was a career housewife who loved her children and pets, she will be buried with her favorite pet, Gizmoe Maurice. She leaves behind her precious babies, Pinky Maurice and Gidget Maurice to celebrate her life and love. Mom loved the company of others, going to garage sales and thrift stores collecting fine jewelry. During her final days she showed great courage, dignity and grace as she struggled with the disease that took her life. Her favorite poem was Rainbow Bridge where she is now and back in the loving company of family and faithful pets. A Visitation Gathering will be held 6-8PM, Monday, February 23, 2015 in the chapel of the funeral home. A Graveside Celebration of Life will take place 11AM, Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Arlington Park Cemetery with Rev. Al Hicks officiating.
