It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Normita "Norma" Dimalanta, who passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 81.
Born on June 6, 1944, in Pampanga, Philippines, Norma was a proud graduate of the University of the East. She married the love of her life, Washington "Chito" Dimalanta, on July 28, 1968, and together they built a beautiful life rooted in love, laughter, faith, and family.
Norma was known for her boundless generosity, quick laughter, and nurturing spirit. She had a gift for crocheting, a passion for cooking, and a heart that found joy in caring for others. Her home was always filled with warmth, delicious food, and the sounds of family gathered together.
She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Dimalanta Manuel (husband Ricky Manuel) and Eileen Dimalanta (husband Erek Ostrowski); her beloved grandchildren, Rebecca Bonzon Griffith (husband Charlie Griffith and sons, Everett, Aiden, and Callum), Christian and Jonathan Manuel, and Alessandra and Connor Ostrowski; her brothers, Edilberto Tayag (wife Maria Luisa) and Renato Tayag (wife Rebecca); her brother-in-law, Ricardo Santos, and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Tayag; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her devoted husband Washington Dimalanta, her father Magdaleno Tayag, her mother Avelina Seng Tayag, her brothers Wilfredo and Ernesto Tayag, and her sister Miguela Tayag Santos.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Arlington Park Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Florida.
Viewing will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by a memorial service at 10:30 AM. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate Norma's life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association ( https://www.alz.org ), in honor of Norma's enduring spirit and compassionate heart.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
