Obituary of Ocra Auxier
On Monday May 20th, 2013, at 8:47pm, Mrs. Ocra Mikles Auxier, widow of Everett L Auxier and a resident of Jacksonville since 1988 completed her journey of life after 75 years and retired to a better place where there is no more pain and no more suffering. Born in Welch West Virginia in 1937, She was the oldest of 7 children (Arthur Mikles, Charles Mikles, Ray 'Bosie' Mikles, Opal Collins, Ottie Dunaway, and Oretha Muncie) all born to Charles and Eunice Mikles. Married on August 11, 1964, Mrs. Auxier was the stepmother of Glenna Auxier-Webb, Julie Seelye, and Karen Duckro and the mother of Samuel and Daniel Auxier. In her life, Mrs. Auxier lived in Welch WV, Dayton OH, Jackson MS, Warren MI, Baumholder Germany, Frankfurt Germany, and Jacksonville FL. An active believer in Christ and member of the Baptist Church, Mrs. Auxier did her best to lead a life of example for her children and those around her. She was active in the church being a Sunday school teacher for years and even taking on the task of a bus driver at some churches. Outside of the church, in her later years, Mrs. Auxier held jobs as a School Bus Driver and as a Librarian. And in the earlier years, she worked for NCR and possibly tackled a few other jobs along the way. In the twilight of her life, Mrs. Auxier became more internalized due to mounting complications in her health. This included discontinuing her active involvement in the church, but not her continued faith in God. And she never stopped loving and caring for those around her. She will be missed. "In the way of righteousnesse is life, and in the path-way thereof there is no death"-Proverbs 12:28. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Everett L. Auxier at Arlington Park Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211. (904) 724-6384.
