PATRICIA ANN (AMICO) DECKERT

of Jacksonville, FL , passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023. She was 85 years old.

Patty was born on May 29, 1937 in Winstead, CT  and was the only child of Pasquale and Camilla (Millie) Amico (both deceased).  The family moved to Jacksonville in 1950, where Patty completed her studies and graduated from Landon High School in 1954.

On August 20, 1955, she married the love of her life, Robert J. Deckert (Bob) at Assumption Catholic Church.  Later that year, they became one of the first parishioners of Christ the King Catholic Church.  They raised three children and were very active in the parish contributing their time and funds to the future growth of the school and athletic organizations.

Patty was employed with the Prudential Insurance from 1955-58. She then took a leave of absence to raise her family. Later, she was employed with Christ the King School in the cafeteria as a cook and volunteered for several events.  In January, 1991, she accepted a position at the CKS Daycare Facility, taking care of infants.  She was lovingly known as "Miss Pat" and stayed on with the organization until retirement in 2009.

Patty was married to Bob for 52 years, with his passing in 2007. She is survived by their three children, Geralyn (Gerri) Deckert Stewart,
Robert (Bobby) J.  Deckert, Jr. , (married to Debbie) and Tina Deckert Parker (married to Scott). Their six surviving grandchildren include Jessica Deckert Long (Brandon), Jennifer Deckert Fleming (James), Melissa Deckert Eades (Chad), Hunter Stewart (Anna), Mitchell Parker (Kierstin), and Zackary Parker (Cali). Patty also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, several friends and cousins and her dog named "Pickle".

Arrangements are set for Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Christ the King Catholic Church located at 742 Arlington Road North.

Visitation to begin at the Church at 11:30 a.m., followed by the Rosary at 12:30, and the Funeral Mass, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Gravesite Service will immediately follow at the Arlington Park Cemetery located at 6920 Lone Star Rd.

Family will then host a catered reception for family and friends afterwards at the Christ The King Church/Social Hall, ending promptly at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital in memory of Bob and Patty Deckert.
