Obituary of Patrick Ward
Patrick William Ward, 58, passed away on Dec. 23, 2007, following a short, but courageous, battle with cancer. He will be sorely missed and is remembered for his wit, love for family and friends, and his independence. Pat was born on November 30, 1949 in Jacksonville, Florida
Pat graduated from Bishop Kenny High School in 1968. He was a Vietnam War era Army veteran. Upon his return from the Army, he worked in data processing in Jacksonville and New Orleans. He later worked locally in retail and service industries.
His father, Hugh Campbell Ward, Sr, preceded Pat in death.
Pat is survived by his mother, Mary Love Ward; his brothers and sister, Hugh C. Ward, Jr., Thomas Joseph Ward, and Kathleen Ward Van Zile; and his nephew and niece, Hugh C. Ward, III, and Mary Love Ward; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial mass will be held 10 a.m., Saturday December 29, 2007 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 742 Arlington Rd, Jacksonville, FL. Father Thanh Thai Nguyen will celebrate.
Following the mass, the family will receive family and friends at a memorial reception in the Shirley David Hall at the church.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local American Cancer Society chapter, or the national American Cancer Society, 1800ACS2345, www.cancer.org.
