Obituary

It is with deep sadness and profound respect that we announce the passing of Mr. Paul E. Cohen, a beloved uncle, brother and friend. He passed away on April 1, 2025, at the age of 95. Paul was born on August 25, 1929, in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania, to David Cohen and Jane Schwartz.

Paul lived a full and meaningful life dedicated to his family, career, and country. After graduating from Mt. Carmel High School, Paul attended Temple University and graduated from the University of Texas, where he earned a bachelor's degree in pharmacy. His passion for healthcare and helping others led him to a distinguished career as a pharmacist, where he made a lasting impact on his community.

In addition to his professional achievements, Paul served honorably in the United States Navy for 20 years, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander. His military service was marked by integrity, leadership, and a deep commitment to his country. Paul's devotion to duty and his fellow servicemen and women was a defining characteristic of his life.

Paul's commitment to Jewish tradition was a cornerstone of his identity. He was a proud member of the Jewish community and a lifelong supporter of his faith. Whether celebrating Shabbat with family or participating in synagogue services, Paul was a devoted believer who understood the importance of community, tradition, and charity.

He was preceded in death by his father David Cohen, mother Jane (Schwartz) Cohen, brother Jerome Cohan, Jerome's deceased wife Shirley Cohen, nephews Jason Cohen and David Cohen, and nieces Joy Loftis and Cynthia Cohen.

Paul is survived by his nieces: Jodie Cohan, Nikka Cohan, Courtney Cohen, and Shelby May; nephews: Steven Cohen and Zack May and many friends who will miss his wisdom, kindness, and generosity.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on April 3, 2025, at Arlington Park Funeral Home followed by interment at Arlington Park Cemetery.
