Obituary

Philip James Muzichuk, 15, passed away on Saturday, May 30th, 2026. He was born on October 30, 2010, in Jacksonville, Florida, at St. Luke’s Hospital, to his loving parents, Pavel (Paul) Muzichuk and Mariya Muzichuk.

From the very beginning, Philip’s life was a gift, marked by purpose, compassion, and a quiet strength that deeply impacted all who knew him. Philip was a student at The Covenant School of Jacksonville, where he was known for his intelligence, curiosity, and determination. He had a remarkable ability to research, learn, and pursue excellence in everything he set his mind to accomplish. Academically driven and thoughtful, he carried a spirit of discipline that extended beyond the classroom. He had a deep love for cross country running, where he demonstrated perseverance and endurance. Across four cross country seasons, he ran six to seven miles a day, four days a week after school in the hot Florida weather, consistently finishing first on his team and racing 5Ks on Saturday mornings. His dedication led him to break the Covenant School all-time 5K record with a time of 19:01. Running was more than a sport to him as it reflected his character: steady, resilient, and committed. Philip also enjoyed spending time with his family, having deep meaningful conversations, building strong friendships, playing chess, baking desserts, and skimboarding at the beach. He approached life with sincerity and heart, always choosing to invest deeply in the people and moments around him.

He will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and selflessness. Philip quietly served others in ways that spoke volumes whether it was rescuing his autistic brother Nathan during an elopement incident, or preparing and delivering a homemade meal to elderly neighbors. These acts of love revealed the depth of his character and the strength of his heart.

In the summer of 2024, Philip made a personal and meaningful decision in his faith, recommitting his life to Jesus Christ with his father by his side in prayer. This moment was sacred and defining, anchoring his life in the hope and promise of Christ. In his final days, Philip continued to seek the Lord, last seen at the altar in prayer, lifting his hands in worship as an image that remains a powerful testimony of his faith. Though his life was brief, Philip’s impact is lasting. He made people feel seen, valued, and loved. His story continues through the lives he touched, the memories cherished, and the faith he carried.

Survived by: his father, Pavel (Paul) Muzichuk; his mother, Mariya Muzichuk; his siblings, Julianna, Nathan, and Amelia; his grandparents, Ivan and Vera Muzichuk, and Raisa Korolchuk; along with extended family, his Springs church family, his Covenant School community, and many dear friends who loved him deeply.
