Obituary of Phoebe Peterson

Phoebe J. Peterson, 90, passed away on December 16, 2008. She is remembered as a loving mother, adoring grandmother, and trusted friend. She was born on May 11, 1918 To William and Lillian Johns. She then relocated to Jacksonville, Florida from Monsey, NY in 1963. She is preceded in death, by her doting husband of nearly 30 beautiful years, Charles E. Peterson, and her parents. She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Evan W. "Bill" and Eric J. Peterson, both of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter, Mary Peterson of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren, Jessica Carten of Dallas, TX, Jamie Carten of St. Louis, MO, Shannon Peterson of St. Petersburg, FL, Evan Peterson and Chloe Peterson of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Mary Hoselton, and two nephews, John and Gordon Hoselton all of Brownville, NY. She was a devoted member of St. John's Episcopal Cathedral since 1963. She retired from Health and Rehabilitative Services for the state Florida after 17 years and was known for the "World's Best Pies". Funeral Services for Mrs. Peterson will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 2:00 pm at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral, 256 East Church Street, Jacksonville, Florida. Interment will follow at Arlington Park Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice in Mrs. Peterson's name.
