Obituary of Preston Raulerson

Raulerson, Preston A. 93, Beloved husband, father and grandfather went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 15, 2011.

Born on February 21, 1917, in Jacksonville, FL Preston was the youngest child of Della and James Carroll Raulerson. He is predeceased by his parents, sister Mildred Castello and brother Claude Raulerson. Preston began working for Great Southern Trucking Co., in 1943 he joined the Army in the Chemical Warfare Division. Later he was selected for Officer Candidate School where he rose to the rank of Captain. After the war, he returned to the trucking business and was an executive in the field for over forty years, including past president of the Jacksonville Traffic Club. Preston married Doris Edmondson in May 1946. At the time of his death they had been married nearly 65 years. In addition to his wife Doris, Preston is survived by his daughters Sheryl Williams and Claire (John) Clardy and his grandchildren Casey Clardy, Max Williams and Tyler Clardy. He was a fifty seven year faithful member of Arlington Baptist Church. He served in many capacities such as Deacon, Deacon Emeritus, Sunday school leader and various committees. The family will receive friends at Arlington Baptist Church, 6009 Arlington Road Jacksonville, FL 32211, on Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm and funeral service will follow at 3:00pm. Interment will be at Arlington Park Cemetery.
