Obituary of Priscilla Duis

Priscilla Renee Duis, aged 42, was born on September 28, 1969 and went home to be with her Heavenly Father on March 21, 2012 after a year-long battle with ALS. Priscilla's faith in Christ, her love and commitment to her family, and her sweet and gentle spirit never wavered during this struggle. The daughter of the late Kenneth Wayne Parnell, Sr., and Patricia Parnell, Priscilla was a Jacksonville native, having graduated from Terry Parker High School in 1987. It was at Terry Parker that she met and began dating her future husband, Donnie Duis. Priscilla and Donnie married in 1991, and later welcomed two children. Priscilla was a Godly wife and mother who enjoyed being active in the lives of her children, which included assisting with the pre-school choir at First Baptist Church Jacksonville. Prior to her diagnosis, she worked as an assistant teacher at Fort Caroline Baptist Academy and was pursuing her preschool teaching certification. Priscilla is survived by her loving husband, Donnie, and her two precious children, Ian Taylor and Wendy Grace. She is also survived by her mother, Patricia Parnell, her sister, Felicia Garner, her brother, Kenneth Wayne Parnell, Jr., in-laws Jerry Duis, Darlene Duis and Dana Eason, and five nieces and three nephews. Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, for a visitation from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, March 25, 2012 and a funeral service on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 2:00pm.
