Obituary of Rachel Hardin

Rachel Louise Hardin, born April 16, 1923, went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2008 at 11:20 p.m. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Leon Hardin and brother Donald N. Skidmore. She was one of six children born to Boyd and Martha Skidmore of Mt. Holly, NC. Rachel was a beauty shop operator for many years and a devoted member of Kernan Boulevard Baptist Church where she belonged to the Adult Class III. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Rachel will be missed.

Rachel is survived by her son Robert L. Hardin of Roseburg, Oregon and his wife La Joan and daughter

Joanie P. Jones and son-in-law Richard A. Jones of Jacksonville. She had five grandchildren Angela

Matlaga of Oceanside, CA., Lisa L. Wright of Lakeland, FL., Tina L. Mangiardi of Orlando, FL., Glenda L.

Berray of Milwaukee, OR., Glenn A Evers of Orange Park, FL. and nine great grandchildren.



The visitation will be held at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Rd. on Friday, June 20, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in Arlington Park Cemetery where Rachel will be laid to rest beside her beloved Leon.
