On Thursday, May 18, 2023, Rafael Rodriguez, beloved husband, father, grandfather and wonderful friend, passed away at the age of 86 years young. Rafael was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where he studied engineering at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo. His As a draftsman by trade, his passion was drawing lines, and lines he drew on everything.

A classmate introduced Rafael to his wife, Antonia and a 4-year courtship ensued. They married on December 30th 1961 and raised two sons, Raymer and Omar. Rafael loved music, especially classical music, and he enjoyed talking about politics and social injustices. His humor, soft heart and loving nature was the reason why he was loved by so many. While Rafael left us far too soon, the impact he had on his family and long-line of relatives will be felt for years to come. Rafael is survived by his wife Antonia Rodriguez; his sons Raymer Rodriguez and Omar Rodriguez, and his grandchildren, Tabbatha Williams, Kellie Wang, Lidia Williams, Gavin Jackson, Holden Emfinger and Evan Rodriguez. His tireless love and devotion to his family were evident in his final moments.

Friends and family are invited to join the Rodriguez' family on Thursday, May 25th , 2023 at 9am for a celebration of life service, starting at Arlington Park Funeral Home on 6920 Lone Star Road in Jacksonville, followed by a mass service and reception at Christ the King Catholic Church on 742 Arlington Road.
