Obituary of Raymond Young

Raymond Harold Young, 96, born November 29, 1918 in Sharon, Pennsylvania to Frederick and Hazel Miller Young, passed away January 27, 2015 in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from Sharon High School. He worked at Westinghouse in Sharon for 44 years. He served two years in the Army during World War II.

Mr. Young attended the Presbyterian Church in Pennsylvania and Jacksonville then later joined the Switzerland Community Church in St. Johns, FL.

Mr. Young was preceded in death by both parents. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jeanne Avanelle McClenahan Young; Children: Sharlene (John) Landers; Gary (Nancy);John (Debbie); James (Barbara); Jerald (Shaun); 17 Grandchildren; 19 Great Grandchildren; and 11 Great Great Grandchildren.

The viewing will be on Monday, February 2, 2015, at 10 a.m., at the Switzerland Community Church, 2179 State Road 13, St. Johns, Florida 32259, (904)287-0330. A Celebration of Life will commence at 11 AM, with Pastor Wes Slough officiating, followed by the burial service at 2:30 PM, at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218.
