Obituary of Reginald Soehlig

Reggie Soehlig, 55, passed away on December 4, 2007 following a courageous battle with cancer. He is remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and caring friend to all who knew him. Reggie was born on December 18, 1951, in Cape Girardeau to Floyd and the late Rosemary Soehlig.

He is preceded in death by his older brother, Ronnie Soehlig.

Reggie graduated from Jacksonville University where he played baseball and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He worked for Hon Industries for 22 years. He then pursued his love of sports, by owning a sporting goods store. Reggie coached at Arlington Little League for ten years and at Stanton High School for two years. He played softball with Warren Motors and made First Team All American Outfielder in 1972 and 1976 when they won the national championship. Reggie also loved golf and was a member of Marsh Landing for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Paula Soehlig, of 34 wonderful years; son, Ryan (Mechelle) Soehlig; grandchildren Taylor, Austin, Nolan; sister, Stephanie (Sam) Davis and many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road on Thursday, December 6th, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home parlor for visitation and a funeral service on Friday, December 7th, 2007 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow.
