Obituary of Richard Gilmore
Richard William Gilmore, retired teacher for Duval County, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Gilmore lived a full and happy ninety four years. He was well-known for his art and photography, having painted commissioned portraits of Jacksonville residents over the past six decades. Many brides in the area can attribute their wedding albums to Mr. Gilmore's talent. He also taught art in community schools and adult education. Mr. Gilmore is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Jeanne. They have five children, William Robert Gilmore, deceased, Joanna Lee Gillen, Donald Richard Gilmore, Victoria Elaine Jammes, and Amanda Jeanne Cail. They have fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Mr. Gilmore served faithfully as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for over sixty years. His love of the Gospel was a sustaining influence in his life.
