Glen Mitchell, 76, well-known advocate for families of homicide victims in Northeast FL, passed away suddenly Sunday, January 8, 2017. He was born in Oxford, Mississippi and grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from Treadwell High School and received his BA in Landscape Architecture at Louisiana State University. Glen is predeceased by his parents, Mary and George Mitchell, his wife, Margaret and his first-born son, Jeff. He is survived by his three children: Glenna and husband Tom, Melissa, Greg and wife, Kari, as well as aunts, uncles and many cousins. He leaves a host of friends, associates and victim survivors, who have been impacted by his presence.

Glen was passionate about many things of which, Family, LSU, and Coaching Soccer were amongst the top. Glen has been honored with many awards but his greatest accomplishment is that of being there for others and always offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or a silent, sustained hug. He excelled in teaching the art of forgiveness and learning to live after tragedy.
