Obituary of Richard Hodges

Richard Earl Hodges, 59, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011. He was a loving husband, devoted father, "Papa" and caring friend to all who knew him. Richard was born on November 28, 1951 in Chipley, Florida to the late David and Willie Hodges. He is preceded in death by his brothers Tony Hodges, William James Hodges, Donnie Ray Hodges; sisters Ruby Hodges and Emily Lassiter. Richard was a selfless servant who put others before himself and represented a true Christian. He deeply loved his family and touched everyone he met. In everything he did, he went above and beyond. Whether in counseling, caring for those less fortunate, teaching, his everyday life or even in his ministry; Richard did it all and whole-heartedly. He is survived by his loving wife Pamela Hodges of 34 wonderful years; daughter Mandy Hodges; sons Ryan and wife Marie Hodges, Justin Hodges; grandchildren Ashton ,Carson, Lyndsey, Taylor, Ella; siblings Augina Collins, Mary Ruth Majors, Dorothy Corbin, Alice Wilkinson, Billie Collins, Katherine McGuinnis, Barbara Greer, David Hodges, Diane Fort, Joseph Hodges and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, for a visitation from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, June 26, 2011 and a funeral service at Celebration Church, 10302 Deerwood Park Boulevard, on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 2:00pm. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to the family via Oceanway Assembly of God benevolence fund.
