Richard Eldon Johnston, Sr., 63, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 4, 1963, to the late James Eldon and Barbara Ann Johnston, Richard grew into a man whose presence left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Richard spent many years in Jacksonville before his career led him to Orlando, dedicating over three decades to the wholesale drug distribution industry. In his youth, he proudly delivered newspapers, earning awards for his outstanding performance. A devoted Gator and Jaguars fan, Richard’s greatest sports passion was baseball—especially cheering for his beloved Atlanta Braves. He also enjoyed golfing, cruising, playing cards (particularly poker and spades), and most of all, spending time with his family.

Known for his infectious personality and warm smile, Richard’s love for his family guided every part of his life. After the passing of his mother, he became a father figure to many of his siblings, offering support, guidance, and unwavering care. His friendships were deep and enduring, his work ethic unmatched, and his kindness felt by all who crossed his path.

Richard is preceded in death by both of his parents, James Eldon and Barbara Ann an older brother James Johnston Jr (Alice) and niece Emily Luttrell.

He is survived by his sons, Richard Johnston, Jr(Lisa), Jakob Johnston, his loving partner, Katherine (Kayla), his siblings, James (Marie), Johnny (Patty), Patricia, Peggy, Martha (Kenny Sr), and Larry (Angela) , grandchild, Richard Eldon III, and several nieces and nephews, Kim (Ed), Kipper, Eldon, Daily, Jamie (Jesse), Rachel, Samantha (Larry), Sport (Denise), Jackson, Josh, Ben, Zach, Aaron, Angelo, Jessica, Ally, Drew, Brandon, Montana, John James, Devlin (Cherish), Theresa, Blake, Stephen, Barbara, Eldon, Guy JR, Nick, Priscilla (Cody), Brooke (Chris), Kenny Jr (Cora), Courtney (Jessie), Caitlin (Zach), Chloe (Dylan), Abigail (Wayne) Brianna (Logan), Naomie, Lexie(Jake), Jacob (Chelsea), Justin, Jasmine (Bobby), Sarah, Nicky, Kynna (Lauren), Nicole, Peyton, Jared, Emery, Bennett, Aiden, Addison, Jaelynn, Nolan, Kaycee, Dalton, Liam, Elias, Lora-Ann, Bentley, Braxton, Grace, Blakelyn, Thomas, Bristol, Kassidy , Aunt Linda, as well as many cousins that were close to his heart.

Memorial service will be held at Arlington Park Funeral Home on Friday September 4th, 2026, at 11am with graveside burial immediately following at cemetery.
