Richard Allen Patterson, 58, a native of Jacksonville, Florida passed away unexpectedly February 24, 2023. Richard was born on March 4, 1964, to the late Helen and William Patterson.
Richard was joined at the hip by his wife Vivian for over 33 years and their son Cameron, affectionately known as "Baby Yoda", came into their lives in 1999. He is survived by his sister Cindy Miller (Rick), nephews Philip, Matthew, and Jeff and niece Rikki along with great niece and nephews.
Everyone who knew Richard felt his big heart and giving nature. Richard loved bass fishing, flounder gigging and exploring back roads of the Appalachian Mountains with Vivian. He also loved his work on the waterfront for Spliethoff as a Surveyor and GTI as a Stevedore. He was a huge Dolphins and WV Mountaineers fan and enjoyed a good round of poker with his friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 12200 McCormick Road, Jacksonville, FL 32225 on Saturday, March 4th from 3 to 6 p.m. We will have a short memorial service in the Church followed by family and friends sharing all their fond memories and stories. The family encourages attendees to wear "Richard style" attire!
