Richard Bruce Powell, Jr., 65, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 11, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born in Trono, California to Dawn Deloris Williams on August 25, 1953.

Richard Powell, known to some as a loving husband, a father, a brother, a papa, an uncle or a best friend but most of all known for his knowledge, wisdom and his love and dedication for his family, who was a proud Navy Veteran, honorably discharged Petty Officer First Class (E6). He enjoyed spending time with family, whether it was spent camping, traveling or right at home he had so much love for everyone. A handy man not only physically but mentally and whenever he was able to lend out a helping hand he never hesitated, you could rely on him for anything.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother Dawn Williams, his mother in law Rosa Griffin and two brothers in law Mike Griffin and Steve Griffin.

Richard is survived by his wife Alice Powell, his daughter Donna Sims and her husband Matt Sims. His grandchildren Cathryn Lively and her husband Brandon Lively, Desiree Michaud and her significant other Andrew Lucas, Joshua Michaud and his significant other Angel Hayes and their son, his great grandchild, Bentlee Richard Michaud. His nieces Faye Tate and Family, Michelle Beck and family, Stephanie Morrison and family and Amy Mathis and family. His ex-sister in law Liz Koski. His brother in law Joe Griffin and his wife Penny and family. His best friend Bob Drake. His two brothers Sam Green and Nick Williams. His nieces Deanna Henderson and her Husband Eric Henderson and Mea Porter and her husband Gary Porter, along with many more nieces and nephews. His uncle Rick Sauer and his wife Cristel Sauer. His cousins Crista Sauer and Joe Sauer. His friends Mary and Steve Progar.

He may have gone home to be with the Lord, but he will never be forgotten by the many family and friends who love him.
